2006 Tentative Assessment Roll Reports |
|
We have created several reports using the 2006 TENTATIVE
assessment roll year with Town of New Hartford assessment information as of May 1, 2006. |
|
On August 9, 2006, we filed a FOIL with the Town of New
Hartford Clerk's office requesting an
updated cd with the 2006 Final Assessment Roll. We were told that the Town Clerk sent the request to
the assessor and it was expected that we would have the disk within the 20-day statutory timeframe.
On September 11, 2006, we picked up the FOIL disk. However, one of the
files needed to open the database was missing. The RPS database
system used by the Assessor's office automatically creates two files when a
backup is made. Therefore, someone either deleted one of the files or
used some other method of making a backup--I would guess in order to make
the backup "unusable". Friday, September 15th is the end of the twenty days and we
will file an appeal at that point. We filed an appeal on Friday,
September 15, however, the 10 days the Town Board had to respond in writing
have now passed. Four times we have received a call saying that the
FOIL disk is available for pick-up in the Town Clerk's Office. Four
times, we have picked up the disk only to find out that the files have been
altered so that we could not open them. Unfortunately, until we receive the
updated disk, we will not be able to provide the current assessment
information to you. How unfortunate that the current Town Board
thinks they have the right to keep "public records" under wraps. The
previous Town Board had no problem giving us the disk--in fact we have been
given the backup disk for about the last 3 years so the Assessor knows
exactly what we asked for in our FOIL so what is he hiding? Everyone reading
this report should be wondering why there is so much secrecy in Town
government since this new Board took over. Is this how residents of
New Hartford, N.Y. want their
government to be run? It will only change if we speak up--don't let
them keep us "in the dark". |

The reports below are in Adobe pdf format and you will need at least Version 3.0 to view them. They are unedited and
each one has all residential properties in the 200 class sorted on different
criteria--the information is
taken directly from the 2006 Tentative Assessment database given to us by the assessor.
Each report is 146 pages long and may take time to open if you are on
dial-up. You can either save the reports to your computer or
view online.
To save the reports to your computer, open each report in pdf. Click on the symbol that looks like a
disk as in the red circle on the graphic below. Either save to your desktop or other destination on your computer. Open the reports on
your computer using Adobe 3.0 or later.

In the instance where there are either blanks
or zeros in a column on the report, it is because the information is not currently in the assessment database.
It is also assumed that if the property class in the assessment database is
in the 200's, it truly is a residential property, but that may not be the
case--check with the assessor if you have a question.
If you do not know your tax map number or
neighborhood code, etc., please use the Assessment Program to search for your property information.

Please remember - all reports are
using the 2006 TENTATIVE Assessment database.
Report 1
- sorted by assessed value - is a report for all residential properties using the 2006 Tentative Assessment, starting with the lowest to the highest not including vacant land. These would be
residential properties in the 200 class not including mobile home parks.
Report 1
Report 2 - sorted by square footage - is a report for all residential properties using the 2006
Tentative Assessment, of each home with the lowest to the highest and
does not
include vacant land. These would be residential properties in the 200 class not including mobile
home parks. Report 2
Report 3 - sorted by Neighborhood Code and street - is a report for all residential properties using the 2006 Tentative Assessment, starting with
no neighborhood code and ending with 4821 which is commercial with a
residential property class. (Huh?) These would be
residential properties in the 200 class not including mobile home parks and
not including residential vacant land.
Report 3
Report 4 -
sorted by year built - is a report for all residential properties using the 2006 Tentative Assessment, starting with the oldest to the newest not including vacant land. These would be
residential properties in the 200 class not including mobile home parks. Report 4
Report 5 -
sorted by grade and grade adjust % - is a report for all residential properties using the 2006 Tentative Assessment, starting with
Grade A. These would be
residential properties in the 200 class not including mobile home parks. The
first few parcels do not have a grade or grade adjust % because the
information is not currently in the assessment database.
Report 5
Report 6 - sorted by street and then neighborhood code on the street -
is a report for all residential properties using the 2006 Tentative Assessment. These would be
residential properties in the 200 class not including mobile home parks. This
reports will show how some streets still have more than one neighborhood code
and therefore, homes have been reassessed in different years and trended
differently in 2004.
