MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF
THE
TOWN OF NEW HARTFORD, NEW YORK,
HELD
AT BUTLER MEMORIAL HALL IN SAID TOWN
ON
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2007 AT 7:03 A.M.
In the absence of Supervisor Reed who was out of town, Deputy Supervisor/Councilman Reynolds called the meeting to order at 7:03 A.M. and led those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. The roll was then taken with the following Town Officials being present during the progress of the meeting:
TOWN BOARD MEMBERS: Councilman Robert A. Payne III
Councilman David M. Reynolds
Councilman Richard B. Woodland, Jr.
ABSENT: Councilman John C. Waszkiewicz III
Supervisor Earle C. Reed
OTHER TOWN OFFICIALS: Town Clerk Gail Wolanin Young
Thereafter, a quorum was declared present for the transaction of business. Councilman Waszkiewicz was also absent but due to medical reasons. The special meeting was authorized by the Town Supervisor on October 4, 2007 to comply with statute relating to the annual budget process.
The Town Clerk then presented to the Board members the 2008 Tentative Budget that had been filed in the Town Clerk’s Office on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 3:59 P.M. Upon inquiry of the Town Clerk, the Town Board acknowledged they had previously received copies of this Tentative Budget directly from the Bookkeeper.
Deputy Supervisor Reynolds informed those citizens present that the Town Board would continue to work on the 2008 Tentative Budget.
Thereafter, Councilman Woodland offered the following Resolution for adoption; seconded by Councilman Payne:
(RESOLUTION NO.
233 OF 2007)
RESOLVED that the New Hartford Town Board does hereby acknowledge receipt of the 2008 Tentative Budget as presented by the Town Clerk in accordance with Town Law, Section 106 (3). Further, the Town Board shall review the Tentative Budget and make whatever changes, alterations and revisions as it shall consider advisable and which are consistent with law. Upon the completion of such review, the Tentative Budget and any modifications thereof as approved by the Town Board, shall become the Preliminary Budget. The Preliminary Budget shall then be filed in the Town Clerk’s Office and the Town Clerk shall reproduce for public distribution as many copies as the Town Board may direct [TN LAW, Sec. 106 (4)].

The Board members then voted upon roll call:
Councilman Waszkiewicz - ABSENT
Councilman Woodland - Aye
Councilman Payne - Aye
Councilman Reynolds - Aye
Supervisor Reed - ABSENT.
The Resolution was declared unanimously carried and duly ADOPTED.
There being no further business to come before the Town Board, upon motion duly made by Councilman Payne and seconded by Councilman Woodland, the meeting was adjourned at 7:09 A.M.
